Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a type of alternative medicine that treats patients by insertion and manipulation of solid, generally thin needles in the body.
Traditional theory of acupuncture draws from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and works through the manipulation of qi (a hypothesized form of energy) through the needling of specific acupuncture points that are connected by channels known as meridians.
At our clinic, our Physiotherapists offer acupuncture as a safe and effective treatment option to promote healing, relieve pain, and restore balance to your body.

How is Acupuncture different from IMS?
During a treatment session Acupuncture needles are inserted into a certain number of acupuncture points and remain for the duration of the treatment. The needles regulate the nervous system while they are in the body. Please refer to the image above to a visual representation of how it may look.
While IMS technique may use the same needles, the method of treatment is quite different. During IMS treatment, the needles are instantly removed. For more information, visit our IMS page.
